Note: This feature is available only to administrators and to inventory assistants with permission to edit product data.
When a product falls out of use, consider archiving it. This removes the product from the active product list, but retains the product and its data in your system. An archived product will appear in search results and reports only when you specifically choose to include archived products in these operations. If an archived product comes back into use, it can be un-archived.
Archive a product using the operation below only when the product is falling out of use entirely. If the product is remaining on-site but being replaced by a new revision, see Uploading a New MSDS Version instead; this archives the outdated revision, but also records its place in the product's revision history and copies its indexed data to the new revision.
To archive a product:
Starting at the Product Information page
Click the EDIT button at the top of the display.
Note: This button appears only when you are logged in as a) an administrator, or b) an inventory assistant with permission to edit product data.
The Information Administration page opens, showing the areas of product data you can edit.
In the You can also: area, click Archive.
A message asks for confirmation. If you click Yes to confirm, the product is archived.
